Preparing for the Mission

This summer I'm going to be heading to Sacatepequez, Guatemala to serve an amazing group of children in a special needs orphanage. Excited doesn't even begin to describe how I feel. God has placed missions on my heart for awhile now, and Hope for Home is a place that He has been preparing me for without me even knowing it. I will be helping with the care of the 12 children currently in the home. That includes changing diapers, giving baths, helping with therapy, feeding, administering medicine, showing them the love of Jesus, and anything else that could use my help. These are all things I pretty much do on a typical day with my very large family anyways, so I know I will be in my element there.

Prayers would be most appreciated before and during my trip. I am going to be away from my family for an extended period of time, and undoubtedly will feel homesick at times. I also know that I'm going to be challenged, and if you would, please pray that I feel God's comfort, His protection, peace, and that I receive His guidance and wisdom as I learn best how to be the hands and feet of Christ.

And also just prayer for the ministry (Hope for Home) that I'm going to be serving with. It is so amazing what they do for the kids in their home, and for the many families that live in the different villages around their home.

This opportunity to serve is something I have been praying for. I would love to have you partner with me. If you are feeling led to, any financial help to cover the costs for this six week mission would be a huge blessing. I need to raise about $1000. I also am going to be doing some fund-raising selling hand-made items.

This is a crocheted heart coaster (11x11in). I also do flower shaped, square, or round ones.

These are two different types of crocheted bible bookmarks (9in).

I've sewed several different aprons. This one is my latest.

I can make any of these items in the color of your choosing. I also crochet baby bibs, beanies, scarves, headbands, oven mitts, you name it, but don't currently have any pictures of them. If you are interested, please email me with the subject being mission trip orders. My email is jukiepie at Thanks!
