Family Time

Man how time flies! It's already 4 days until Christmas. We got our tree shortly after Thanksgiving. It's a long story of how we got it like this, which involves bringing the chainsaw into the house, but I'll spare you the details and show you this picture instead.

With Christmas time, comes Christmas parties. I've gone to a couple where I've needed to bring a dessert. For one I made a pumpkin spice roll with cream cheese filling.

Another I made a strawberry cobbler. Both were delicious!

I love the trees our new house has, but with trees, come lots of leaves this time of year. Everyone came over today and we watched Elf, and raked leaves. Of course the kids loved playing in them.

The tree in this pic is my favorite. The leaves are so pretty!

Caleb, Adam, and Rebecka made it safely here for Christmas this past week.

Here we all are in our new living room. It was a little crammed, but we didn't care. Elf is one of our favorite Christmas movies.

Afterwards, Caleb and Oliver decided it was time to take a nap.

I hope you all have a Merry Christmas!

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you all had a wonderful day. I know we did. :) Lots of yummy food and cheerful conversation made for a great day. Thomas and I arrived at my parent's house around 11am. Beforehand, I did all of the desserts at our new house: brownies, ruffle chocolate chip cookies, rice krispie treats, pumpkin pie, and chocolate pudding pie. Thomas also got a free smoked turkey from his work. It was a nice change from the type of turkey we normally have. On top of that we had mashed potatoes, stuffing, cream corn, rolls, green beans, and cranberry sauce. We were so blessed. Our grandma and aunt also made the drive out and spent a couple days with us.

Natalie was in such a happy mood that day.

Auntie Lena brought us a cheese ball that we all enjoyed with crackers.

Oliver and Nolan eating their dessert

Thomas and I are loving our new home. We feel so blessed. Our washer and dryer got delivered on Saturday, and I've never been so happy to do laundry in my entire life. :)

Our New House!

Today we finally signed. It has been a crazy adventure, that is just now beginning. Our realtor gave us this beautiful wall decoration as a house warming gift. She has been so great to work with. Here we are at the front of our house.

I've been waiting for this moment for a long time. :)

My Mom brought us dinner at the house. Sadly, Thomas had to leave to Louisiana for work, and couldn't stay long. After he left my mom and I shampooed the carpets and did other cleaning. We plan to return there tomorrow.

May God bless our home and all that enter.

Happy Birthday Thomas!

This past weekend, we celebrated Thomas's birthday. It's the first birthday that I got to spend with him without me being out of the country or us being busy. It was a nice day. We slept in, went to a coffee shop, dropped in on some friends, and went to my parents house for a great dinner of brisket and potatoes.

Happy birthday my amazing, caring, handsome hubby!
We spent the day outside. The weather was beautiful.

The chickens and peacocks are doing great.

My dad and some of the boys worked on this ramp for the birds to go on.

We've been raking a lot of leaves, and that means doing a lot of fires. Even Dennis has learned how to man the fire.

Alex spends a lot of time with the animals, and they love the attention.
The new closing date is this Wednesday. They say that nothing can change this one unless the title company burns down between now and then. I'm trusting it will end up closing, and spent the day calling the utilities to have them turned on this Wednesday. It has been a long process, but I'm super excited.

Happy Halloween!

For Halloween this year, we didn't do much. It was a cold and rainy day. Thankfully, our church did a fun fall fest indoors. We went to that for about an hour, and then got pizza for dinner.

A couple days before Halloween, we carved pumpkins. I hope you all had a great day!
Sadly, our house hasn't closed yet. The new date is this Friday. We are hoping that it all works out since we pretty much already have everything packed.

Here we are getting ready to walk into the house right after we found out it was ours.

Signing some papers inside our soon to be home. Right now it looks like we'll be closing the first week in November. It's been crazy lately. Thomas is traveling for work, and has been gone for 3 weeks. Hopefully he'll be back for closing, but right now we don't know. Please pray that he is able to be here, and has safe travels.

We went to the beach a couple weeks ago. Good friends of ours from California that moved to Texas met us there. It was so nice and relaxing.

Nolan was fearless in the water, and loved boogie boarding.

Natalie loved being in the water. It was so much fun watching her laugh and smile.

We found so many interesting rocks and shells.

The boys played countless games of Spikeball.

I'm slowly packing up the apartment. It's exciting, but stressful at the same time.

While Thomas is gone, I've been staying at my parents house. One morning I came into the kitchen and Oliver was sitting here waiting for someone to open his yogurt. He is such a little ham.

He was taking a nap today after church. I don't know how he was able to sleep in this position.

Midterms are finally over. I had three multiple choice finals, and one 1000 word essay final. I spent almost all day yesterday writing it. Not fun. I felt so relieved after I hit submit.
